Common Mental Health Problems of Older Adults: This course provides a overview of  the incidence and prevalence of mental health problem in aging populations.

Objectives
The aging process often brings about mental health challenges for many elderly individuals. Unfortunately, these issues are often ignored and not given the attention they deserve. Additionally, the social stigma surrounding these conditions can prevent older adults from seeking the help they need. According to the World Health Organization (2023), the most prevalent mental health issues among older adults are depression and anxiety. This module addresses the common mental and behavioral health problems experienced by older adults and provides insight into the demographics of the elderly population.
